We will creates different effects with cables – from busy and branching to elongated and elegant. We will study what stitches work best as a framework for cables. And then there is the slimming effect of cables when placed just right in your garment! When you leave this class, no cable will intimidate you.

Design - Introduction

From the Top Down—
Baby Sweater

Learn all the elements in a top down raglan sleeve sweater, only in a baby sweater. So the class goes quickly.
Learn casting on neckline stitches, measuring and adjusting the raglan sleeve and separating the sleeve from the body. Daniele will also teach you how to add an easier than it looks lace stitch and you are on your way. This class is so easy - you will want to knit another sweater for a grown up right away!
Materials: #11 needles on TARA yarn for a gauge of 4 stitches per inch or Big Baby on #15.

You will get started with a easier than it looks lace stitch and you are on your way. 2nd class we will check measurement, learn how to knit the sleeve and shape the body. 3rd class we will add the button band and put it all together. This class is so easy - you will want to knit another sweater right away!
Materials: #11 needles on TARA yarn for a gauge of 4 stitches per inch: 7 balls were used for sample

Knitter's Math and Read a Pattern

Conquer the sweater fitting blues. This skills building workshop will give you control of your knitting projects. Learn how to read and understand a pattern. We will take your personal measurements and adjust a pattern to fit you. You will leave with a personal worksheet and the confidence to adjust a pattern to fit.
Materials List: tape measure, lined paper for notes and a pattern you have had trouble reading. As time permits we will review specific patterns.

Lace Workshop for Beginners

Take the mystery out of lace with this lovely scarf. You will learn how to read and understand a lace chart. Tips and Tricks on keeping track of your pattern. Guaranteed to take the confusion out of lace. You will leave knowing how to knit the “Grace Note” scarf.
Materials List: Cathay or Koigu yarn (approximately 150 yards) and #7 needles. Plain colors work better than variegated.

My First Sweater - Chanel in Blue

You will learn how to knit your first sweater in a fun class. Learn the basics of knitting an edge, shaping with increase and decrease, knit sleeves and then putting it all together.
Come to the first class with your knitting gauge. We will take your measurements, and establish your pattern. You will get started with an easier than it looks color slip stitch, learn how to make a pocket. are on your way! 2nd class you will learn how to knit the sleeve with decorative shaping, 3 needle bind off at shoulder and how to pick up and knit a color button band. This class is so easy - you will want to knit another sweater right away!
Because each student knits at a different pace, Daniele will be having separate Putting it All Together classes—dates to be determined.

Putting It all Together

Is your project in pieces? Daniele will help you put all the pieces together. Learn how to sew side seams, short rows your shoulder, 3 needle bind off shoulder, mattress stitch. Stumped by your sleeves? Have a neckband or button band that has you puzzled? Learn how to pick up stitches and sew your finishing bands. Also learn how to block your garments.
